The global economy grew by 3.0% in 2023, according to the IMF's estimate, slowing from 3.5% in 2022. In 2024, global GDP growth is expected to reach 2.9%. The main drag on growth will be the lagged effect of central banks' restrictive monetary policies.

The global economy is estimated by the International Monetary Fund to grow by 3.2% in 2022, slowing down from 6.0% in 2021 and is expected to grow by 2.7% in 2023. The main drag on growth is, of course, the energy crisis, which is hitting Europe hardest.
